Abstract

The Doktor Faustus is considered to be a novel about a German fate represented by composer Adrian Leverkühn. A deal with a devil connects Leverkühn with a German fate.

Referring to a confrontation of the text with a reading of the author and that in the secondary literature It was demonstrated how fragile this traditional interpretation can be.
