On the eve of a war: The Russo-Georgian relations in the period of 2001-2007

Abstract

This article deals with the complicated relations between Georgia and Russia in the critical period since 2001, when USA launched its "war against terrorism" which pushed the South Caucasus into the sphere of Washington's special interest, until 2007, that is, a year before the escalation of Russo-Georgian relations that led to the Five day war of August 2008.
