Abstract

Article about text and contexts of poetic and unrestrainedly imaginativ prose "Rivers and sees" by Václav Eduard Mencl (1904-1987) - his best, because the once literary work. It was published in 1932 and in the same year all impressions - except two or three copies - were destroyed (taken away) by summer flood.

Next 38 years the work was circulating and known only in small community of czech disident intelectuals, extremely strongly impressed by lautréamontian and rimbaudian diction, totaly uncomparrable with everything in contemporary czech literature. Of course, extremely fascinating is also the fact, that this juvenile imaginativ explosion wasn't succeeded by any other work.
