Abstract

The Acropolis of the Timpone della Motta at Francavilla Marittima (Italy) rendered matt-painted pottery decorated with variations on the same motif, namely that of Undulating Bands. The vessels are almost all manufactured by hand of a pink , hard fired and refined clay with calcareous inclusions and some silver mica particles, thus indicating local production.

The 'Undulating Band Style'(UBS) pottery fragments mainly stem from the remains of the contents of a circa 26m long apsidal timber building named 'House of the Weaving'.
