Mathematics: actively, in an actual way and with applications

Abstract

The publication is divided into four chapters and is suitable especially for high-school mathematics teachers. First chapter is devoted to geometry, especially Euclidean motions and plane tilings.

Second chapter discusses financial literacy and explains the basic notions of financial mathematics. Third chapter is devoted to Archimedes and his discoveries, which are important for high-school mathematics.

Fourth chapter discusses practical applications of mathematics, especially mathematical methods in astronomy.
