Detection of coherent structures and determination of mean wind velocity in turbulent Rayleigh-Bénard convection

Abstract

First results of coherent structures studies in Rayleigh-Bénard convection are presented for high Rayleigh numbers in cryogenic helium gas.These results enable to determine the velocity and direction of macroscopic flow, so called the wind.
