Velocity measurements of a superfluid helium flow through a channel generated by fountain effect

Abstract

In superfluid helium a flow can be established by a temperature gradient, an effect which is sometimes used to drive fluid through chennels in turbulence studies. The problem of measuring the velocity of such flows naturally arises.
