Abstract
The paper informs about the most important objectives of the contemporary Czech language didactics both on theoretical and practical level. Among them are primarily basic research in creating language literacy, using information technologies and developing didactics of Czech language as a second language.
All that applied in educational study programmes on pregraduate and postgraduate level.
