Abstrakt
For everybody studying the Czech language, it is important to achieve the phonetical level of speech with good effect, as one of the basis for successful communication. As audiovisual material, CD-recordings that are a part of textbooks are mainly used in the courses of Czech for foreigners.
In comparison, teachers work with the recordings of the students' own speech very rarely, although these recordings can help improve their speech substantially. An unquestionable advantage of the recordings is the possibility to play them back more times and to archive them for future use.
It is possible to use recordings not only during exercises focusing on accuracy, but also on fluency. They allow us to get sufficiently detailed and adequate picture of the phonetical level of students' speech, they contribute to the efficiency of pronunciation and listening exercises and to the improvement of the communicative abilities.
It is possible to used them as a means of motivation. In the contribution the possibilities of using the recordings during teaching are qualified and characterized in detail.
The final notes refer to the technical part of recording and replaying. The processing of speech recordings by means of CoolEdit software is illustrated.
