Odysseia as a Constituent Work of the European Cultural Tradition

Abstract

The study essays to introduce, in a very broad scope, the main problems of the Homeric poems: the s. c. Homeric question and its solution in the Parry-Lord formulaic theory; However, many other themes are dealt with, especially the place of Homer' s poems in the previous traditio and; the figure of Ulysses and its afterlife in the European culture (James Joyce's Ulysses included) .
