Abstract
A paper presented at Europaeum 2012 summer school on Conflict Resolution in Europe: Lessons for Tomorrow, held at Oxford University on 2 to 7 September. The paper concerned the role of media in escalation of international crises at the level of European Union and the role of 'extraordinary journalism' in breaking stories of major international impact.
