To Be, or Not to be a Hamlet: A Metamorphosis of the Hamlet Myth in Russia

Abstract

Paper examenines the development of the Hamleth myth in Russia. More specifically, it deals with the question of how a Hamlet type character is treated in Russian literature.

The author focuses onthe trnasformation of this type of character and reinterpretation of certain points which can be observed in the Russian understanding Hamlet.
