Abstract
The study examines business contacts between two Czechoslovak wholesale banks - Živnostenská banka in Prague and Anglo-československá and Pražská úvěrní banka in Prague - and medium-sized enterprises in the cotton industry in the east Bohemian region of Náchod. The analysis indicates that the two big banks' banking strategies did not ignore medium-sized textile enterprises and they even endeavoured to strengthen the links with them.
