Abstract
Angelo Scarano took a careful restoration work to bring us the story from the Gospel of Luke in its original strength and beauty. Proper understanding of the parable is difficult for us because of several faulty but widespread interpretations that shifted its meaning somewhere else.
The author´s aim is not only a technical commentary on the biblical text, but an approach the Gospel message of God's mercy to the widest range of readers. We are invited to calm the thirst and to draw from the life-giving source of the God´s love, diffused in Jesus Christ in a wasteful manner.
