Holy Spirit in the Bible

Abstract

There is not a systematical theological essay on the Holy Spirit in the Bible. The biblical texts however propose sources for the later theological reflection.

The Old Testament works with the concept of Spirit of God, who is a creating and life-giving force, manifestation of God's power, works in the prophets and is also the synonym for God himself. The New Testament uses this concept in the similar sense, but contains some elements of the doctrine of the Holy Trinity.
