Interest on non-European ethnography/ethnology and was until today still is a permanent part of the curriculum at the Institute of Ethnology ethnology prezentovanáho Charles University in Prague. His appearance in terms of intensity, as topics of interest, lectures included in the program so many times going through a complex evolution, to which had (and has) caused by a number of external and internal factors.
These include in particular circumstances of political development company, specializing in academic employees at the Faculty of Arts and of course the interest in studying the issue of the New World. In this paper we look at the non-European part of ethnography/ethnology (ethno-American studies in the broader sense) by the end of the seventies of the 20th century to the present.
