Abstract
Several immigrant generations of the Czech origin live in the USA today. They are quite well assimilated; most of them cannot speak Czech functionally but they often know several Czech words or phrases - it is called manifestation usage of language or cultural bilingualism - the descendant of the immigrants can express their awareness of and interest in their origin.
