Religion and Criminal Law: The Czech Republic

Abstract

The article describes relation of religion and criminal law in the Czech legal system. It concentrates on provisions of the Czech Criminal Code No. 140/1961, that was in force in 2008, when the article was written.

It describes for example Section 196 (Violence against a Group of Citizens or an Individual), Section 198 (Defamation of a Nation, Race or Conviction) and Section 236 (Restrictrion of the Freedom of Religion).
