Abstract

The article deals with university students´preferences in addressing in academic setting. The answers to the following questions were analysed: how would students prefer to be addressed by lecturers, how would they like to address lecturers, and whether they prefer V or T forms ín contact with lecturers.

The results show that students try to equalize the asymmetry between interactants and prefer positive politeness strategies.
