Rehabilitation methods aimed at the development of skills of persons with cognitive deficits due to schizophrenia

Abstract
The paper is dedicated to the rehabilitation methods that should encourage the development of social and occupational skills of persons with cognitive deficits due to schizophrenia. The reason for this focus is, first, the demonstrated influence of cognitive deficit for the skills associated with social functioning and independent living, second, the relative resistance of the cognitive deficit to the pharmacologistic intervention and also to the rehabilitation procedures aimed at improving of the cognitive functions (the cognitive rehabilitation).
The text presents selected recommendatiosns for the realization of the social skills training for the persons with schizophrenia and also some foreign rehabilitation programs.
