Personal Factor in Post-Soviet Asia

Abstrakt

The keynote lecture focused on the personal factor in Central Asian as well other post-Soviet Area studies. It argues that personal character of the leader is one of the key factor in regime-building due to high centralization of power.

The more authoritarian regime is the more personifiation of the politics, although more liberal systems are not reluctant to this factor as well.
