Abstract
A reader gets acquainted with problems of design and implementation of databases. A needed theory is completed by a lot of practical examples coming from one large application starting with a formulation in a conceptual model, a description on a logical level and ending by an implementation in a relational database machine.
An explanation of the query language SQL continues on the same database schema.
