Abstract
The possibilities for publication of public domain works were often exhausted in the process of massive digitization. Therefore, it is desirable to conclude licences.
The article offers memory institutions to use licence agreement for wider publication of collections. The basic terms of Copyright Act are defined.
Non-contractual institutes of use such as library licence, school work and employee work are described. The principles of exclusive, non-exclusive licence agreement and necessary elements of such contracts are described.
It presents practical options for the use of works by using licences by the examples of GEOBIBLINE database and prof. Karel Kuchař portal.
