Alergic contact dermatitis as a reaction to nitinol following transcatheter closure of persistant foramen ovale using Amplatzer occluder - case report

Abstract

Metal alloys are beeing used in recent years more often in various fields of medicine for example in cardiology. Nitinol is an alloy of nickel and titanium.Hypersensitivity to nickel has been confirmed by epicutanous tests and Melisa Test proved increased stimulation index for nickel and especially for titanium.
