Abstract

When aqueous extract of Atropa belladonna was used on skin wound treatment in rats, it shortened the time of healing and significantly increased wound stiffness. Under in vitro conditions this extract stimulated expression of keratin 19 in keratinocytes and increased cell proliferation in fibroblasts and human umbilical vein endothelial cells.
