Hematopoietic stem cell properties and transplantation preconditioning studied by competitive repopulation of the hematopoietic tissue
Abstract
The dissertation first verifies murine congenic transplantation models which are then used for evaluation and comparison of different conditioning regimens on the level of engraftment of transplanted HSCs. It also studies difference of fetal and adult HSCs with special emphasis on the development of sensitivity to estrogen, and influence of systemically administered drugs on bone marrow microenvironment.
