Abstract

Ulcer in the stomach, the duodenum, but elsewhere in the digestive tube is a mucosal defect (minus the mucous membranes), which seeps under the mucosal layer of the muscle, and possibly deeper (penetration), in the extreme case is liable to the entire wall of the organ (perforation). The only necessary condition for the emergence of peptického ulcer is the presence of HCl in the gastric secretion.
