Onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes

Abstract

An overview of clinical forms and therapy of onychomycoses caused by dermatophytes is presented. Trichophyton rubrum is the causative agent most frequently.

The distribution of different pathogens depends on various factors such as climate, geography, migration, diabetes, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and peripheral arterial disease.
