Thrombophiliac conditions in obstetrics

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |

Abstract

The occurrence of thrombophilia can be influenced by both genetic and acquired factors. It precedes the process of thrombogenesis itself, which is latter set in motion by one of the possible triggers.

During pregnancy, thrombophilia does not only heighten the risk of venous thromboembolism, but also the risk of developing other conditions associated with deep vein thrombosis.
