Thyroid gland disorders from the point of view of a general practitioner

Abstract

The group of thyroid diseases takes an important part in wide differential diagnostics in the practice of general practitioner (GP). The task of GP is not only to recognize and forward the patient with the thyroid disease to the special endocrinological care but also administer substitute treatment in case of non-complicated autoimmune and post-thyroidectomy hypothyroidism.

The autor deals mainly with the problem of rational examinitaion of thyroid function impairment with principles of substitute treatment of hypothyroidism in this article.
