Abstract
Treatment of recurrent colorectal cancer in recent years made considerable progress, but it needed a comprehensive approach of surgeon and oncologist. The authors draw on their own experience and that of their department, which deals with a surgical treatment of advanced stages of colorectal carcinoma.
The book helps to understand the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation, summarizes current information about diagnosis and treatment, especially from the perspective of a surgeon dealing with colorectal carcinoma. Finally, the book reminds to surgeons, internists, oncologists, gastroenterologists and all who encounter patients with colorectal cancer experienced that the disease stage and recurrence is instable.
