Ethnographic monograph in the beginning of 21st century – End of realism in the Czech Republic?

Publication |
2008

Abstract

The article deals with ethnographic monograph as the most characteristic genre of socio-cultural anthropology. It distinguishes three basic types of this genre: realistic narrative, processual narrative and reflexive narrative and claims that the presentation of research findings is not just a literary problem, but an epistemological one.

At the conclusion it reasons about acceptability of these narrative types in Czech academic milieu.
