Abstract
There are no doubts about currently increasing importance and usefulness of the safety research. This fact results from the growing danger of terrorism and organized criminal activity, migration of inhabitants, intensifying industrialization of the landscape and increasing frequency of natural disasters.
On the other hand, the danger of military aggression decreases, particularly in Europe. The Czech Republic government imposed a task upon the Ministry of Internal Affairs: to subject till June 30, 2008 a proposal of an “Inter-sector concept of the safety research and development in the Czech Republic for a period up to 2015”, which should be based on a reform of the system of the research, development and innovations in the Czech Republic.
The target of the Concept submitted should be an identification of priority tasks and main strategic trends in the development of the safety research in the Czech Republic.
