Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2009

Abstract

Echocardiographic assessment of left ventricular (LV) diastolic function is constantly evolving as a result of our improving understanding of physiology and pathophysiology of LV diastole and introduction of new ultrasound modalities into routine clinical practice. Because of its comprehensive nature, LV fi lling analysis represents one of the most challenging tasks to be solved by the echocardiographer.

Therefore, the aim of this article is to give a detail review of the current principles of echocardiographic evaluation of LV diastolic function.
