Abstract
Autor reviews the conference about chlamydia infections. The causative agent and its biology is characterized at the beginning.
The next paragraphs are focused to epidemiology, differential diagnostics problems, direct and indirect detection of disease and therapy. Lymphogranuloma venereum, until recently in Europe unknown infection caused by chlamydia was found more frequently among HIV positive gay men.
The role of chlamydia in male fertility problems is also observed.
