Abstract
Peritoneal dialysis is undreused as a dialysis modality in the elderly population. Thi is a partly due to insufficient information abouot whether PD confers similar outcomes and quality of life as other modalities.
In the BOLDE corss-sectional study, the authors compareddifferent of quality of life in matched patiens older 65 years of age treated by PD or hemodialysis. Quallity of life was similar in patients on PD.
These data justify efforts to increase the utilization of PD in older subjects.
