Abstract
Child and adolescent psychiatry has been an independent medical specialization, which has many specific characteristics, for more than 100 years. Diagnostic deliberations in children and adolescents are complicated by overlapping symptoms of mental disorders and developmental changes, which makes this specialization a very interesting, but also a challenging one.
