The use of volatile substances by children from ethnic groups, pilot study. Final report of research

Abstract

Inhaling volatile substances is one of the most risky forms of drug use while on it there is little information in comparison to other addictive substances. The results of studies carried out in-school students in the Czech Republic clearly confirm the fact that volatile compounds are attractive especially for vulnerable groups of children and / or children and adolescents with lower overall levels of intelligence.

The aim was to determine whether and to what extent the experts helping professions working primarily with children and adolescents or those at risk of drug users face of volatile substances. Expert estimates method via questionnaires were used.

Approximately one fifth of the representatives of the facilities that participated in the screening encounters in his practice with users of volatile substances, the average is about 9 clients on the respondent. Ethnic minorities among users of volatile substances predominate, and more significantly in the age under 15 years.
