Broader protection of infants and children against oneumococcal infections with a new -valent conjugate vaccine - Prevenar

Abstract

Pneumococcal infections cause infant and small children morbidity and mortality even in developed countries. During the last decade, three conjugate pneumococcal vaccines for small children were introduced to clinical praxis in our country.

Prevenar 13, containing the broadest serotype coverage, is the most up-to date vaccine. In this article, we discuss the benefits of vaccination with Prevenar 13 in our country.
