Abstract

This chapter summarizes an overview of the rheumasurgery. The topic is divided on the prophylactic and reconstructive procedures.

The basic prophylactic procedures are synovectomy and tenosynovectomy. The most common reconstructive procedure is joint replacement, occasionally arthrodesis and osteotomy.

Listed are the main indications, contraindications, advantages and risks of different surgical procedures.
