Abstract
This monography focuses on the clinical use of drugs interfering with renin/angiotensin/aldosterone system, e.g. ACE/ inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists, renin inhibitors and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists.
Clinical indications and recommended doses of each of these classes are described in more details. Chapters summarizes the use of renin/angiotensin/aldosterone blockers in arterial hypertension, heart fauilure an nephropaties.
Major evidence about the effects of these drugs on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality is mentioned. ACE-inhibitors or sartans form the main therapeutic step in monotherapy or combination treatment of high blood pressure.
