Easterners do not shot the way Czechs do: pilot study on blood borne diseases in Russian speaking drug injectors in Prague

Publication

Abstract

Russian-speaking IDUs represent a fairly new phenomenon in the Czech drug scene and, given the cultural differences, they pose a major challenge for public health and should be addressed alike by all players in the field. Further research developing the methods piloted in the study is needed to generate more evidence about the extent and patterns of drug use in the new ethnic minorities in the Czech Republic and other Central and Eastern European countries in the European Union, and to adjust the services accordingly.
