Abstract
Isopropyl alcohol has excitatory effects on the CNS and about 2 times stronger depressive effect on the central nervous system than ethanol. Poisoning takes 2 to 4 times longer than alcohol poisoning.
Local irritation of the lining of the digestive tract is also stronger. Treatment of intoxication is symptomatic and supportive.
