Abstract
Toxic effects of methanol metabolites taken up in a few hours. Early administration of antidotes (ethanol, fomepizole) minimizes the formation of toxic metabolites.
Folic acid is administered to all patients treated with an antidote. In severe poisoning, hemodialysis is indicated.
