III. International Symposium on Gene Regulation in Normal and Pathologic States (G3 2012) - Genes, Genetics & Genomics G3 Prague Meeting

Publication

Abstract

This one-day symposium is organized by BIOCEV research groups, and it aims to summarize recent discoveries on physiological as well as pathological cellular and molecular processes achieved by using global "omics-" and systems-biology methodologies as well as focused biochemical functional approaches. Diverse research areas will be covered, including gene regulation at the levels of chromatin structure, transcription, post-transcriptional control of gene function by ncRNAs and alternative splicing, impact of the environmental stimuli and their cross-talk with the cellular signaling and gene regulation networks and effects on the genetic make-up of target cells.

An important emphasis of the presentations will be aimed at the latest technological advances in genetic manipulations, high-throughput genomics and proteomics and the contribution of these techniques to our improved understanding of stem cell biology, embryonic development, cell differentiation, tissue homeostasis and of the onset of pathological processes including malignancies.
