Hormonal and metabolic consequences of the bariatric surgery

Abstract

Bariatric surgery affects primarily food intake, but many changes in production and effect of many hormones and cytokines, too. Results of this changes are useful (incretin effect, adiponectin and neuropeptide YY increase), but also undesirable (increase of ghrelin after restrictive surgery).
