Overall and cause-specific mortality in Crohn's disease: a meta-analysis of population-based studies

Abstract

A recently published meta-analysis on mortality in ulcerative colitis revealed no difference in prognosis from that of the background population. An overview of mortality risk among unselected patients with Crohn´s disease is lacking.

The aim of this study was to perform a systemic review and meta-analysis of population-based studies on overall and cause specific mortality in Crohn´s disease.
