Abstract
The article present a rewiev of hormonal effects on cardiovasular system, especially on the development of atherosclerosis. Thyroxin and testosteron have favourable antiatherosclerotic effect.
Estrogens have a double effect - a protective one before the development of sclerotic plaques but may deteriorate sclerotic process when sclerotic plaques are present. Cortisol worsens atherosclerotic process by multiple mechanism.
