Abstract
The article presents an overview of therapeutic and preventive approaches in functional dyspepsia, peptic ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug gastropathy, with an emphasis on the use of the most effective antisecretory therapy, i.e. the treatment with proton pump inhibitors.
