) Onychomycoses are treated with antifungals. Chemical nail avulsion can be performed additionally.
Onychomycoses that do not affect nail matrix are treated topically. In case of nail matrix involvement systemic administration of antifungals is needed.
Surgical nail avulsion is indicated in the most severe forms.
